Cognitive Sovereignty

Status: In Progress | Tool: Nous

When AI systems can argue more convincingly than any human, how do individuals maintain independent judgment? This project examines the mechanisms of epistemic autonomy in environments saturated with AI-generated persuasion.

Nous is our cognitive sovereignty assessment toolkit — it measures vulnerability to AI-mediated persuasion and provides frameworks for maintaining epistemic independence.

Current focus areas:

  • Mapping the cognitive pathways through which AI-generated content influences human decision-making
  • Developing frameworks for "cognitive defense" — not against AI, but against the erosion of independent thought
  • Analyzing historical precedents: how did previous communication revolutions (printing press, radio, internet) reshape human epistemic habits?
  • First working paper in progress.

    Transition Dynamics Modeling

    Status: Scoping | Tool: Meridian

When cognitive labor is no longer scarce, economies restructure. But how, exactly? This project builds quantitative models of labor market transitions under various ASI emergence scenarios.

Meridian is our scenario modeling engine — it simulates economic restructuring and policy outcomes under different ASI emergence timelines.

    Research questions:

  • Which job categories face displacement vs. transformation vs. creation?
  • What is the expected timeline from first ASI demonstration to measurable economic impact?
  • How do different governance responses (UBI, retraining programs, work-sharing) perform across scenarios?

Containment Architecture Review

Status: Scoping | Tool: Sentinel

A systematic analysis of proposed approaches to maintaining meaningful human oversight over systems that exceed human cognitive capability. We evaluate technical, institutional, and philosophical containment strategies against realistic threat models.

Sentinel is our governance framework toolkit — it provides structural templates, evaluation criteria, and red-team scenarios for maintaining human authority alongside ASI-class systems.

Post-Scarcity Value Theory

Status: Early Research | Tool: Substrate

If superintelligent systems enable radical material abundance, current economic models of value, motivation, and exchange break down. This project develops alternative frameworks grounded in behavioral economics, philosophy, and historical analysis of post-scarcity transitions.

Substrate is our post-scarcity value modeling system — it simulates how economic systems function when production costs approach zero.
